SpectraLayers 1.0
January 2013
This document contains information on the following topics:
1.0 Welcome
Thank you for purchasing SpectraLayers 1.0 software. This document contains information about installing and using SpectraLayers on your computer.
2.0 What's New
Notable fixes/changes in version 1.0.25
  • Added support for VST shell plug-ins.
  • Added support to use left-click+Ctrl (left-click+Command on Mac) while dragging to scroll the display.
  • When merging layers using the Merge Down command, the phase of the merged layer now matches the phase of the bottom layer before merging.
  • Fixed a bug that caused edits made in an external editor to be ignored if the editor was open when choosing Process > IO > External Wave Editor.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the Gamma control from being adjusted fully with keyboard shortcuts.
  • Fixed a bug that caused an incorrect number of harmonics to be extracted when using the Extract: Harmonics tool.
Notable fixes/changes in version 1.0.21
  • SpectraLayers can now save 16-bit WAV files.
  • Fixed an error that could cause SpectraLayers to crash when clicking certain operations in the History panel. The History panel now displays only operations that support Undo.
  • Removed a limitation that prevented the trial version of SpectraLayers from playing back with sample rates above 24 kHz.
3.0 Known Issues
  • ASIO buffer size should be greater than 512 (10 ms @ 48 KHz) to avoid glitching during playback.
  • Some ASIO devices do not preserve settings after adjusting the ASIO driver controls.
  • When using 32-bit Waves VST plug-ins in SpectraLayers on OS X, you may notice that the plug-in interface is slow to respond to parameter changes and that the plug-in's Editor UI does not allow you to make changes.
  • When using the Process > IO > External Wave Editor command to start Sound Forge, Sound Forge may open with an audio playback device other than your default device.
